LPL Adult Summer Reading
The theme this summer is “Exercise Your Mind. Read!” Registrants will receive a prize upon registration and another prize after reviews are submitted for three booLevCal_081716Bks. All reading materials are acceptable. Book reviews will be accepted through Aug. 19. The program ends Aug. 25, with an end of summer reading program party from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with refreshments, prize drawings, discussions and a guest author.

Playdate Fridays
Visit the library every Friday from 11 a.m. to noon and see what’s in store. No registration required, all ages welcome. Messy art time at the ITPL.

Saturday, Aug. 20

Outdoor movies: Cinderella
Grab your chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and head to the LPL library for a movie night enjoyed by all ages. The movie will be shown in the staff parking lot on a big screen at 7:30 p.m. Seating is on a first come-first served basis. A limited number of chairs will be supplied. Complimentary popcorn and water. The movie is Cinderella and stars Lily James, Cate Blanchett Richard Madden. (PG 1 hr. 52 mins).

WLVAC Car Washes
Get your car washed and support your local EMS Cadets. The Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Cadet Corps (WLVAC) is holding weekly car washes, every Sunday through Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Wantagh Avenue in the Meineke parking lot. All proceeds go toward sending the cadets to the New York State Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Association (NYSVARA) Pulse Check Convention, a first aid competition.

Levittown Community Council
The Levittown Community Council meets the fourth Monday of every month at the Levittown Public Library at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are open to the public and free.
