Wantagh Independence Day Parade

On Monday July 4, the Levittown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9592 and its Auxiliary participated in the Wantagh Independence Day Parade. On this picture perfect day of blue skies, plenty of sun and low humidity the Post stepped off from the parking lot across from the Wantagh LIRR train station at 10AM sharp.  Leading the formation, which included the Post’s Color Guard, regular members and Auxiliary, were the newly installed Post Commander, Matthew DeGregorio and Auxiliary President, Pat Nocerino. VFW Post 9592’s contingent included Veterans who served in Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan and other smaller Expeditionary Operations. As they proceeded north on Wantagh Ave and onto the end of the parade they were greeted with cheers, salutes and many people saying “thank you”. The members of Post 9592 had a great time celebrating Independence Day with the residence of Wantagh and look forward to doing it again next year.
