The Island Trees Girls Varsity Basketball Team have been successful in their mission, which they call Mission Orlando.
The fundraising mission has been going on all year to play in a five-day tournament in Orlando, FL, over this year’s Christmas break. Their latest fundraiser was a local car wash hosted by Farmingdale Goodyear.
“Any time I can help connect with the community I am on board. To help these high school athletes realize their dream is something that as a local business owner, I support 100 percent,” said owner Chris Anderson. “It teaches them that through hard work and determination dreams do come true, just as they do on the basketball court.
Anderson also cooked hamburgers and hot dogs for his customers and the girls during the car wash.
